A latest-generation global modular platform

For all the models (compact and family car ranges) built on the platform, the EMP2 provides a common-core base featuring the Group’s highest standards while offering numerous possibilities in terms of combinations of varied styles. Among the 116 technological innovations for which a patent was filed, the main advances of the EMP2 platform include:

  • A 70 kg reduction in weight thanks to innovative lighter materials;
  • A 22% reduction in CO2 emissions through the combination of several cleantechs (SCR in particular)
  • A visible move upmarket with the combination of a number of technologies that enhance driving comfort (notably driver assistance systems), travelling well-being and vehicle safety.

And in the future?

Today the EMP2 covers 50% of Group production. In partnership with Dongfeng Motors, PSA is working in parallel on a new global platform: the Common Modular Platform (CMP) for compact models and city cars.
