Reducing the fuel consumption of petrol engines

A result of the Group’s commitment to developing cleantech, the dedicated EGR system reduces fuel consumption by 10% for all uses (certification test cycles and all types of customer driving).

EGR = Exhaust Gas Recirculation (increased quantity of circulated gas)

How do high-efficiency engines work?

  1. Increasing the quantity of recirculated gas and the cylinder compression rate optimises engine efficiency
  2. Excess fuel is sent to the cylinder dedicated to producing the recirculated gas, the hydrogen content of which increases
  3. The hydrogen in the recirculated gas :
a.Accelerates fuel combustion in the cylinders
    b.Considerably reduces pinking
